About K. Nakamura Designs

Ken Nakamura

Originally from Port Chester, New York, Ken Nakamura's creative side blossomed at a very early age. He remembers going to Manhattan and seeing the Twin Towers and being in awe of their presence. That's the moment he knew he liked architecture.

In high school, he studied drafting for two years and learned a lot about different architectural styles. After high school, Ken went to Edison State College (now Florida SouthWestern) and obtained his Associate's degree in general studies and Bachelor's degree in Business Management.

Following his passion for residential design, he decided to pursue his passion and enrolled in Architectural Design class at Fort Myers Technical College. Upon graduation, he spent two months working for a local commercial architecture firm Castellanos-Tramonte Architects, run by architect Art Castellanos. He was then offered an intern position with the City of Cape Coral Public Works department, helping with civil design drawings and engineering design standards, but ultimately decided to form K. Nakamura Designs.

He is also an affiliate of KG Design, another residential design company in Fort Myers.
